Welcome to His People JoburgDear Visitors and Church Family, Welcome! May the Lord richly bless you as you live for Him. The last words people say before they leave or pass away are often of the greatest significance. As Jesus was finally leaving his disciples, Matthew gave this eye-witness account in Matthew 28: Matt 28:18-20 “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age’.” And that was it –The Great Commission. These were Jesus’ final words in Matthew. The Great Commission is the truth that we have been given God’s power and authority through Jesus; that we can, should, and must GO with a passion and a confidence into all the earth, making disciples, not just converts; that we should be diligent in teaching the full counsel of God and not that which is in fashion, and that Jesus is with us through it all. Jesus spoke of making disciples: Becoming a disciple means to be continually transformed into Christ-likeness.
