What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and is used to describe the technology used in creating feeds.

What is a feed?

A feed, also known as RSS feed, XML feed, syndicated content, or web feed, is frequently updated content published by a website. It is usually used for news and blog websites, but can also be used for distributing other types of digital content, including pictures, audio or video. Feeds can also be used to deliver audio content (usually in MP3 format) which you can listen to on your computer or MP3 player. This is referred to as podcasting.

How can you automatically get updated content?

You can receive content automatically by subscribing to a web feed. Your preferred reader will automatically download the most up-to-date web feed list.

How does it benefit you?

One of the main benefits for subscribing to the His People RSS Feeds is the ability to stay informed of current church events.
Another great feature is to have the sermons delivered to you automatically - podcasting!

What do you need to subscribe?

You will need an RSS reader. Many of the popular web browsers have a reader built into the product.
You can also use an online reader like Google Reader or try Feed Reader.

How to subscribe to feeds?

Simply click the RSS icon  and the appropriate reader will open and prompt you for confirmation to subscribe to the feed.
You can also manually enter the URL into your reader.

Use the following to check to see if your browser is set to receive RSS feeds:

Internet Explorer 7.0 Tools -> Internet Options -> Content (tab) -> Feeds Settings

Mozilla Firefox Tools -> Options -> Feeds (tab)
