Baby Haven
Baby Haven serves the abandoned and orphaned babies of Johannesburg, many of them the healthy children of HIV+ parents, by providing a home, a loving environment, and the hands of Christ to touch, nurture and bring wholeness of body and soul. Baby Haven serves as the link between the babies and their adoptive parents, their “forever families.” Since 2003, Baby Haven has been a place of safety for dozens and dozens of children. More than half of these children have been placed for adoption. In a continent overburdened with the orphan crisis, Baby Haven has been part of the answer.
Housemom Joanna Lung faithfully serves a team of volunteer staff and volunteers in a 10-bed facility… moving to new purchased quarters in 2010.
Baby Haven’s logo is a yellow bucket with a yellow daisy. One of the Baby Haven babies was found in a field under a tree in a yellow bucket. The yellow bucket serves to symbolize the abandoned children served by Baby Haven. The daisy represents the baby, a beautiful gift appearing in an unexpected place!
Baby Haven is a ministry of two churches in the Every Nation family of churches, His People Christian Church Johannesburg and Grace Covenant Church in Chantilly, Virginia, USA.
